How long will an Energy Performance Certificate take?
This is a lot like asking how long is a piece of string, there are a lot of factors that go into how long an EPC can take to complete. Generally, a domestic EPC will take between 30 minutes (for a small square property) and an hour (for a large extended property) so dependant on the complexity and size of your property you can take a good guess as to how long it will take.
What you need for an Energy Performance Certificate?
During the inspection, the assessor will gather as much information as possible about the property to accurately produce an EPC. The information that is gathered by the assessor has to be evidenced for auditing purposes (usually photographs during inspection). If however the assessor is unable to gain evidence of any work that could affect the energy performance of the building, then documentary evidence would be required for the assessor to include the information into the assessment.
